Missing crew member from Full Kuo 101

At 5:30pm on Saturday 8 May, a man overboard alert was issued for the Falkland Islands licensed Taiwanese jigger Full Kuo 101.

Once informed, the on-call FISHOPS officer helped to coordinate efforts and four vessels, including the Protegat, joined the search, which lasted for 36 hours before ending due to weather conditions.

The missing crew member has not yet been found and the Falkland Islands Government is supporting local fishing partner, Fortuna. The jigger came into port this morning and FIMA is now onboard to carry out an investigation.
