Human Resources Officer/Advisor

This is an exciting opportunity to join FIG’s HR team, working closely with staff and managers across the organisation to provide efficient, customer focused HR service. The post holder will be responsible for providing generalist support and undertaking a range of people focused activities including recruitment, employee relations and exciting project work! At FIG we are committed to developing our staff so there are lots of opportunities in this role to broaden your knowledge, learn new skills and gain new qualifications.  As a succession planned role, candidates interested in the Officer position will be provided with opportunities for training and on the job learning that supports the individual in achieving their full potential.

Applicants entering the programme at the Officer level, will require a minimum of an NVQ/QCF Level 3 or equivalent in an appropriate field is required along with 5 years plus relevant work experience in a similar role covering a broad range of support tasks and procedures in a busy environment.  Candidates for the HR Advisor position must be qualified to degree level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject and possess Chartered CIPD Membership.

Supply Teachers - IJS&CE & FICS

Education Dept seeks to increase the pool of supply teachers to work as required to cover long & short term staff absences. Candidates will be fully qualified primary/secondary teachers with 3+ years’ recent teaching experience. Thorough knowledge of the National Curriculum for England is essential.

Programme Manager 

FIG Grade: B  Starting Salary £44,955 - £51,587 per annum depending on qualifications and experience, (more could be available for exceptional candidates)

The Opportunity: This senior role involves working across FIG to support delivery of high quality capital projects, and to coordinate reporting on project progress to CMT and Members. The role will include delivery of updated project and programme management documents for FIG, and building an effective collaborative culture with Project Managers and Project Boards to support the overall delivery of FIG’s ten-year Capital Programme. Essential criteria for the role include a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), demonstrable experience of delivering large and complex projects and programmes and five years’ experience in senior planning, programme management and project delivery roles.

Inspector

FIG Grade C: Starting Salary £39,944 - £46,057 per annum plus a 7.5% allowance paid monthly, more for exceptional candidates.

The Opportunity: To manage the day-to-day operation of the Royal Falkland Islands Police by providing energetic, visible, accessible and professional leadership in order to ensure the delivery of an excellent quality of service to the community and to achieve the aims of the policing plan and the Islands Plan. To embed a strong community-based approach to policing the Islands.  Essential criteria for the role include good general education (minimum GCSE/CSE/O level or equivalent) which must include maths and English.  Preferably qualified as a Tactical Firearms Commander (TFC) or be willing to undertake training to perform the role of TFC.  The candidate must also have a minimum of five years’ experience as a substantive Police Sergeant with evidence of having performed the role of acting/temporary inspector for at least six months in the previous five years and qualified to the rank of Inspector or substantive inspector or above within the last five years.

Learning Support Assistants – FICS & IJS&CE

FICS & IJS&CE are looking for full time LSA to work Mon-Fri 08.00 – 16.30 for both Primary & Secondary Schools. The posts involve supporting and assisting students with their educational and social progress and helping develop their learning and understanding. Essential criteria for the role include evidence of a good level of literacy and numeracy i.e. GCSE Grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent), in English and Maths, an ability to prioritise tasks and use initiative and a capacity to work with children with behavioural and emotional needs in order to improve their social skills. Applicants must also have patience, flexibility, the ability to prioritise tasks and be competent at delivering instructions.

SHIELD Support Worker

To work with individuals or groups to ensure a secure and safe working environment either at the Centre or in the wider community. Infant Junior School & Camp Education Part-time Clerk   

FIG Grade G1: Salary range £19,559 - £24,140 per annum (pro-rata) dependant on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: We are seeking for a responsible individual to provide clerical, administrative, organisational and logistical support within the Infant & Junior School and Camp Education. Essential criteria include GCSE pass in English & Maths and a current valid driving licence.  The candidate must have experience as an office administrator, office assistant, or similar role within a similar working environment.

Contract Type: This post is a part time, permanent post (0.4 of a full time equivalent) on standard FIG terms and conditions.
