The Opportunity: To be responsible for the delivery of high-quality nursing care across the hospital and community, inclusive of both primary and secondary care services, which includes ward-based care, intensive care, theatre, maternity, primary care, 0-19 and community nursing.

Essential criteria:  to include a master’s degree level, (or equivalent work experience at an equivalent level) and registration as a Nurse with the Nursing Midwifery Council. The postholder must have a minimum of 10 years’ relevant post-qualification experience demonstrating proven evidence of leadership and management with at least 5 years clinical experience.

The Opportunity: The Education Department is seeking to recruit qualified and experienced Deputy Special Education Needs Coordinator (Deputy SENCo) to start as soon as possible.  The Deputy SENCo supports the SENCo to direct and support provision and intervention strategies within the 3 – 16 age range in the Falkland Islands’ Schools.

Essential criteria:  Applicants must be qualified teachers (recognisable in United Kingdom) who have preferably completed or are working towards the National Award for SEN Co-ordination, who have at least 3 years’ teaching experience and recent experience as a middle leader with whole school responsibilities in a United Kingdom or a British curriculum school.

Job Title:  Trainee Solicitor - Legal Services

FIG Grade: As this is a succession planned role the successful applicant will, depending on their qualifications, skills and experience, be appointed to Grade C (£42,641 – £49,090 per annum) and upon successful completion of the training move to the substantive role of Lawyer Grade B currently (£47,928 -£54,924 per annum)

The Opportunity: You will handle a varied and supervised caseload across contentious and non‑contentious work, undertake legal research, draft legal documents, participate in stakeholder meetings and develop core advocacy and advisory skills as part of your solicitor training.  This role provides a unique opportunity to develop professionally into a Solicitor while contributing to public service in a small but dynamic jurisdiction.

Essential criteria: includes a degree in law, or a non‑law degree with completion of the Common Professional Exam/Graduate Diploma in Law, successful completion of the Legal Practice Course. Commitment to complete the Professional Skills Course and achieve admission to the Roll of Solicitors (England and Wales).

NATURAL RESOURCES DEPARTMENT - Stock Assessment Scientist

The Opportunity: To undertake stock assessments of commercially important fishery species and provide timely scientific advice to the Falkland Islands Government for long-term sustainable management of the fisheries.

Essential criteria for the role to include a PhD Level (or equivalent) in an appropriate biological, fisheries or mathematical discipline. A completed training in fisheries stock assessment or other relevant discipline, such as population dynamics, including the ability to apply standard fish stock assessment techniques and to develop new approaches, together with a high level of competence with modern statistical methods.

Executive Management - Junior Helpdesk Engineer

Closing Date: 17 April 2026

The Opportunity: to provide 1st line IT support to end users and assist in hardware and software rollouts across the FIG network, as well as maintaining the infrastructure in order to deliver that service.

Essential criteria to include Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, minimum five GCSEs at Grade C/Grade 4 or above with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to think creatively. The postholder should have a keen interest in ICT and the ability to demonstrate a sound knowledge of desktop PC and Microsoft product suites.

Offshore Petroleum – Sustainability and Socio-Economic Officer

FIG Grade C starting salary £42,641 – £52,555 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: to be responsible for managing all data collection, analysis and development of data management systems associated with both the environmental and the socio-economic sustainability of the offshore petroleum industry. This will include the analysis and fulfilment of national and international reporting and data sharing obligations. Additional to this, the post holder will be responsible for providing the secretariat function for the Falkland Islands Environmental Impact Offsetting Trust.

Essential criteria: to include a bachelor’s degree and significant experience (7+ years minimum) in sustainability, environmental and/or socio-economic research and data analysis. Experience of oil and gas projects would be advantageous Additionally, extensive experience of operating within a public sector or research organisation (government or non-government) and understanding complex datasets and successfully delivering research projects to deadlines.

The Opportunity: to be responsible for ensuring that all licensing and compliance activities are delivered to the highest standards, supporting the Falkland Islands’ commitment to maximise economic recovery and ensure the development of a long-term industry presence that will benefit the Islands for decades to come. This role is critical to maintaining transparent, robust and efficient licensing processes within the Department of Mineral Resources, enabling the effective business management of offshore petroleum developments.

Essential criteria: to include a bachelor’s degree and a Level 6 (or similar) CMI Management or Leadership Qualification. Significant experience (7+ years) in a senior business management role, which involves delivery of licensing and associated commercial management. Experience of oil and gas projects would be advantageous Additionally, extensive experience of operating within the public sector or third sector (government or non-government) that has involved licensing management
