Job Title:  Senior Community Support Worker 

FIG Grade G1: starting salary £21,135 - £25,968 per annum (depending on qualifications and experience).

The Opportunity:  Working within the community in peoples’ homes as well as in care facilities the postholder will promote and deliver all aspects of health support (emotional, physical, mental and psychological) to enable service users to achieve their optimal independence, supporting their activities of daily living, safeguarding and promoting good health and well-being, identifying the changing needs of caseload and communicating the change appropriately and confidentially.  

Essential criteria: include GCSE grade C/grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English, a manual driving licence, at least 2 year’s relevant experience working in an equivalent health or social care setting and the ability to communicate effectively in English (in writing and verbally).

Department Name: Health & Social Services Department

Job Title:  Therapy Assistant 

FIG Grade : This is a progression planned post. The successful applicant will be appointed to either Grade G1 starting salary £21,135 - £24,279 per annum or Grade F starting salary £24,950 - £28,689 per annum depending on qualifications, skills and experience.

The Opportunity: 

This is an exciting opportunity for someone to develop themselves within an exercise and rehabilitation setting. The role involves working under Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists to independently supervise the rehabilitation of clients through one to one sessions and exercise and activity groups. In-house training will be provided, with the possibility of further on-line qualifications.

Essential criteria: 

The candidate must have a minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C/Grade 4 or above in English Language, Maths and Science (or recognised equivalent). A regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) level 3 or A- Level in an exercise-related field, or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role, operating to this level of complexity and competency is also essential.

Veterinary Officer

FIG Grade B: starting salary £47,428 to £54,424 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: With a particular focus on mixed clinical work and disease control, the successful applicant will work alongside members of the Veterinary Services team, (and other colleagues within the Department of Natural Resources) to provide a complete, professional clinical and public health veterinary service to the Falkland Islands.

Essential criteria: include a Bachelor’s Degree in Veterinary Medicine/Science, being registered with the UK’s Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS), (or a recognised international equivalent) and having at least 5 years post-degree experience evidencing a good track record of surgical competency, and clinical experience in small animal, farm animal and equine veterinary work.

Essential criteria: for these roles include possession of a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, being registered with the United Kingdom’s General Dental Council (or recognised international equivalent) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a General Dental Practitioner in the United Kingdom’s National Health Service (NHS) or a primary care community dental practice. Applicants will also be dedicated to providing high quality dental care and improving the patient experience.
