Examinations Officer

The Examinations Officer is responsible for the management, administration and conducting of all internal and external examinations and assessments, and completing the various tasks associated with the exams cycle; ensuring that Falkland College is fully compliant with each examination board regulations. Essential criteria for the role include GCSE Grade C in English & Maths or equivalent Level 2 Qualification, NVQ Level 3 qualification in a relevant subject, a high command of English language IELTS level 7 or equivalent, a minimum of 5 years clerical/administrative experience or working in an Educational establishment and a methodical with attention to detail and the ability to enter data accurately.

Careers Officer

The post holder will provide impartial job, training and study-related advice in order to help individuals make decisions about their career options and to reach their full potential and support lifelong learning. You will also work with the Careers Lead to promote career events to people in the Islands and students studying overseas. Essential criteria for the role include an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualifications or suitable relevant experience working in a similar role at the same level, a minimum of five years’ relevant work experience in the field of training and development, three years’ experience of effective team leadership and management and the ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) to a variety of audiences and demonstrate excellent classroom management. A manual driving licence is essential.

Electrician/Electrical Technician 

Closing Date: 26 April 2024

The Power & Electrical Section has a vacancy for a qualified Electrician/Electrical Technician, depending on qualifications and experience. The main purpose of the post is to provide a daily response to the electrical distribution system comprising both overhead and underground services at voltages up to 22,000 volts. Experience of working on live systems would be an advantage, as would knowledge of cable jointing techniques but training will be given where necessary. The opportunity also exists to undertake training with Enercon to then assist with the maintenance of the Sand Bay and Mare Harbour wind farms. Applicants must hold a valid driving licence and be willing to join an on-call rota to provide a 24-hr response for faults occurring on the distribution network
