FIG Grade E1 starting salary £28,982 - £33,332 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: The Community Support Team have opportunities for registered nurses to work within their multi-disciplinary team to provide professional, skilled and effective person centred, evidence-based nursing care to service users to develop areas of community nursing expertise to improve the service users experience.

Essential criteria to include UK registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (or equivalent), with 2 years’ post qualification experience in a Health or Community Care setting.

Contract Type: This is a permanent post on standard FIG terms & conditions.

Falkland Islands Government FIG Grade G1: starting salary £21,135 - £24,279 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: FICS & IJS&CE are looking for full time Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to work Mon-Fri 08.00 – 16.30 for both Primary & Secondary Schools.  The posts involve supporting and assisting students with their educational and social progress and helping develop their learning and understanding.  Some roles include supporting children with complex special educational needs and challenging behaviours. 

Essential criteria for the role include evidence of a good level of literacy and numeracy i.e. GCSE Grade 4 / C or above (or equivalent), in English and Maths, an ability to prioritise tasks, use initiative and a capacity to work with children with behavioural and emotional needs.  Applicants must also have patience, flexibility and be competent at delivering instructions.

Job Title:  Fisheries Observer/Senior Fisheries Observer

Starting Salary: These are dual graded roles commencing from £28,982 - £33,332 per annum within FIG Grade E1 (Fisheries Observer) or from £35,774 - £41,168 per annum within FIG Grade D1 (Senior Fisheries Observer) - depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity:  To play a critical role in the conservation and management of fisheries resources by gathering data essential to the sustainability of the Falkland Islands fisheries resources.

Essential criteria: The successful applicants will be required to hold at least a BSc (or equivalent) in Fisheries Science, Marine Affairs or other relevant subject, (or be able demonstrate evidence of working in a compatible role at a similar level). We are looking for individuals who have good communication skills, the capacity to write detailed and comprehensive reports, work effectively using their own initiative and who are also good team players. The applicants must be able to remain professional, impartial, and diligent in the execution of their duties. To be considered for the higher-grade, applicants must have a minimum of three years’ sea observer experience in a Fisheries Observer, Fisheries Enforcement Officer, Marine Officer or Inspector role and have experience of mentoring and coaching others.

Further Information: To collect biological data and monitor vessel compliance with current Falkland Islands Fisheries legislation and fishing licence conditions, Observers will be required to spend periods of up to eight weeks at a time at sea, (although this may vary if conditions dictate).
