The Opportunity:  To provide a client centred Occupational Therapy service in the Falklands Islands for patients who have complex medical, neurological, orthopaedic, or psychological disorders or a learning disability. The Occupational Therapist (OT) will work as a sole practitioner, responsible for developing, managing and providing the service to maximise independent living. 

Essential criteria

for the role include: a degree in Occupational Therapy, current HCPC registration and a minimum of five years post qualification experience including experience across a wide range of specialities.

Job Title:  Offshore Petroleum - Head of Health, Safety and Environment

FIG Grade A1: starting salary £85,371 – £105,248 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: Leading a team of Health and Safety, Environment and Policy professionals, the role of Offshore Petroleum Head of Health, Safety and Environment is to primarily act as the de facto Health, Safety and Environmental ‘Regulator’ for all offshore petroleum development activity on behalf of the Government.

Essential criteria: to include a Master’s degree in either health, safety or environment, or alternative business qualification or equivalent experience which should include at least 7 years’ experience of working in Health & Safety regulation in the oil and gas industry. Additionally, the postholder should hold Chartered Membership of an appropriate professional institute associated with Health and Safety, Engineering, Science or Project Management.

The Opportunity: The role of the Offshore Petroleum Environmental Manager is diverse and involve all aspects associated with the regulation of environmental legislation and pollution prevention.

Essential criteria: to include a Master’s degree or Post graduate diploma (or equivalent) in an environmental discipline containing significant content relating to the offshore petroleum industry. The postholder should also have a minimum of 7 years’ experience of working in environmental regulations of the oil and gas industry which included reviewing and assessing Environment Impact Assessments and Safety Cases.

The Opportunity: Providing expert input into the investigation and inspection of onshore and offshore oil and gas installations situated in Falkland Islands. The role involves the assessment and control of physical, chemical and biological health risks, and could include hazards such as hydrogen sulphide, crude oil, drilling muds, asbestos, noise and vibration.

Essential criteria: to include a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant health safety, engineering or science discipline, or other evidence of suitable training and job experience or Master Mariner STCW 11/2 (preferably unrestricted). The postholder should also hold Professional Membership of an appropriate institute associated with Health, Safety, Engineering or Science.

Essential criteria: to include a bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant Offshore Petroleum Environmental or Science Discipline with a minimum 5 years’ experience of working in environmental regulation of the offshore petroleum, or another industrial sector presenting major hazards; including reviewing and assessing Environmental Impact Assessments, Safety Cases and any other operator environmental submissions. The postholder should also hold Professional Membership of an appropriate institute associated with Health, Safety, Engineering or Science.

The Opportunity: This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive dental care including both dental hygiene and therapy activities and supporting the oral health of our diverse community. You will be required to perform dental hygiene and therapy procedures including examinations, radiographs, periodontal treatments, direct restorations, and deciduous extractions.

Essential criteria: include a Degree in Dental Hygiene Therapy, registration with the UK General Dental Council (or equivalent) and a minimum of three years relevant experience, ideally in a UK practice providing NHS care

Job Title:  Telecommunications Regulator

FIG Grade A: starting salary £57,216 - £85,631 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: The Falkland Islands Government is seeking a suitably experienced and qualified Regulator to ensure effective regulation of commercial telecommunications services in the Falkland Islands. Independent of the Government, you will work with the Attorney General, who will deputise for you when required. Your role is to ensure that licensees are compliant with the conditions of their operating licences: including working to service levels in accordance with defined performance indicators and implementation of major service improvements. The Regulator will also however advise on policy and regulatory approaches, technical issues, industry trends and best practices for the continuing development of a sustainable broadcasting and communications service / infrastructure within the Falkland Islands.

Essential criteria: include the successful candidate will have in the region of ten years’ experience of effectively engaging with government and/or regulatory bodies, or as a regulator and is likely to be educated to degree level or equivalent. Please note that equivalent combinations of educational qualifications and experience may be considered.

Contract Type: This is a fixed term contract for a period of two years on standard FIG terms and conditions.
