Steeple Jason Island (West Falklands)
Avian Influenza (Bird Flu) case
Steeple Jason Island declared as an Infected place due to an outbreak of Avian Influenza – review keeps declaration in place.
This decision has resulted in a number of actions which will need to be taken as follows:
- No unauthorised people are to be on Steeple Jason Island, visit the Island or transit through the Island while the declaration is in force.
- All unauthorised people are to be removed from Steeple Jason Island as soon as reasonably practicable. – there shouldn’t be any there!
- All persons removed from Steeple Jason Island are to be transported straight to Stanley – probably not necessary they can go wherever as long as enhanced biosecurity – enhanced biosecurity measures apply before and after travel.
- Landing only permitted in case of a medical emergency
These measures are to remain in place until otherwise advised.
This Notice shall remain in force until further notice.
