HEALTH & SOCIAL SERVICES -  Income Support Worker/Social Work Assistant

The Opportunity: The primary role of the Income Support Worker will be to effectively administer and deliver social benefits for two Programmes: Income Support and the Attendance Allowance. Additionally, there will also be Social Worker Assistant duties attached to this post which would support the delivery of the service to adults, children and their families.

Essential criteria for the role include an NVQ Level 3 or higher in a relevant area which could include Social Care, Business Administration, etc. or equivalent experience in a similar role and five years relevant work experience.

EDUCATION DEPARTMENT -  Stanley House - Houseparent

 The Opportunity: Stanley House are looking for a full time Houseparent to provide a safe, caring, boarding environment with a focus on delivering high standards of person-centred care for all boarders.

Essential criteria for the role to include a good level of education with a minimum GCSE grade C/level 4 or above in Maths & English (or equivalent), a current manual driving licence and three years’ driving experience in order to pass the FIG proficiency test for Minibus and Land Rover. Additionally, experience of working with students in a pastoral capacity (as a parent or in a youth organisation etc.) is also required.

 

LAW & REGULATION -  Head of Legal Services

The Opportunity:  You will lead the Legal Services Team within the Attorney General’s Directorate to deliver an effective and efficient legal and governance service to the Falkland Islands Government and to the Government of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands. As part of the Directorate’s management team you will support the leadership of the whole directorate, which comprises of Regulatory Services (including civil aviation and telecommunications regulation) and Registry Services.

Essential criteria for the role include being admitted as a solicitor or called to the Bar in a Commonwealth country or in the Republic of Ireland, a minimum of 7 years post qualification broad based experience including a good understanding of and an interest in public law and governance together with experience of advising local or national government on matters such as public law and governance and human rights, the law of contract, criminal law, tort and civil litigation.

HEALTH & SOCIAL SERVICES -  Sonographer

The Opportunity: To provide an efficient ultrasound service within agreed departmental protocols. To provide autonomous reports on all ultrasounds performed including charting obstetrics scans onto personalised growth charts.

Essential criteria to include a Post graduate qualification in Medical Ultrasound and a BSC Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent undergraduate degree, along with 2 years’ post qualification experience of scanning including obstetrics, gynaecology and general medical.

The Opportunity: Under the supervision of the Head Cook and working in a team provide nutritional, well presented meals on a daily basis to a high standard.

Essential criteria to include a good standard of education with a minimum of grade C/level 4 in English and Maths together with experience of catering for large numbers of people.

The OpportunityTo assist, and in times of absence, provide cover for, the Overseas Medical Coordinator and Practice Manager to enable them to meet their agreed aims and objectives within an efficient, safe and effective working environment, whilst maintaining the highest standards of confidentiality and probity.

Essential criteria:  At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in administration or operational roles, have an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in a relevant subject matter and have a Grade C or above in English and Maths.
