The Opportunity: to manage the Dental Department as a lead clinician in order to deliver dental services to the community and provide advice to the Senior Leadership team on all dental matters within the Directorate.

 Essential criteria: to include having a Bachelor of Dental Surgery, registered with the United Kingdom General Dental Council (or recognised international equivalent) and have a minimum 5 years’ experience as a general dental practitioner and experience of senior dental role in the UK’s National Health Service (or equivalent).

FIG Grade B starting salary £47,928 - £54,924 per annum depending on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: Alongside members of the Veterinary Services team, the successful applicant for this position will also provide a professional clinical and public health veterinary service to the Falkland Islands.  The duties of this post holder will however primarily consist of regulatory public health duties, including regulation of an EU approved abattoir and fishery product establishments.

Essential criteria: Applicants should be a qualified ‘Official Veterinarian’ (OV), (or possess equivalent relevant Public Health qualifications), be able to demonstrate at least 5 years public health experience in food production industries and have familiarity with Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) documentation.

The Opportunity: To provide data management and analysis expertise to support operations and decision-making activities within the Natural Resources Directorate. The post holder will also be responsible for coaching and mentoring the Fisheries Data Manager.

Essential criteria: Include being qualified to BSc level (or equivalent) in a relevant subject with a high numerical/statistical/IT content, (or evidencing particular strengths in these areas), evidence of at least two years’ experience of environmental or biological data management or data analysis, (or other relevant discipline) and a good understanding of database principles and programming skills.

FIG Grade C starting salary £42,641 - £49,090 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: To provide support, guidance, and expert advice, including regulatory advice, to the Director, the Project Manager, and others as necessary in regard to all aspects of Health & Safety requirements.

Essential criteria: Include holding a Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in a relevant subject area, (eg public policy, law or health & safety etc), a Masters (or equivalent qualification) in any discipline containing significant content relevant to the offshore hydrocarbons industry, a minimum of 5 years’ relevant public sector policy experience, (ideally in off-shore Health, Safety and Environment), evidence of good interpersonal skills and the ability to advise and collaborate effectively with individuals at all levels across government and with external stakeholders.

FIG Grade H1: starting Salary £19,413 - £21,469 per annum dependent on qualifications and experience.

The Opportunity: Playing a key operational role within Tussac House, the post holder assumes day-to-day responsibility for general caretaking duties across the facility, in particular those relating to cleanliness, general upkeep and security in order to ensure that the facility is a safe, welcoming, and clean environment at all times. The post holder will also undertake general driving duties for both service users and staff.

Essential criteria: include a full clean driving (manual) licence, a minimum of 12 months experience of driving various vehicle types (e.g. passenger cars and light commercial vehicles) in a safe and careful manner and a minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in basic DIY and housekeeping/ caretaking tasks.

The Opportunity: To provide one to one bespoke care and support services for a service user in accordance with the department’s policies and procedures. This will include but not be limited to: -

  • Lone working in a variety of different settings.
  • Assisting in developing self-help, social, life and independence skills as directed by the care and support plan.
  • Development of a therapeutic and effective working relationship with service user and acting as their Advocate as necessary.

The post may involve a flexible working pattern to suit the service users needs.

Essential criteria: include an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Social Care or other relevant subject (or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role operating to this level of complexity and competency), a full manual Driving Licence and the ability to develop an effective professional relationship with the Service user. 

*This post has been assessed and confirmed as being one where there is a genuine occupational requirement for the post holder to be male and as such, only male applicants will be considered for this role.

Essential criteria: include an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Social Care or other relevant subject (or the ability to demonstrate relevant experience in a similar role operating to this level of complexity and competency), a full manual Driving Licence, and significant experience of working with children and/or adults and older people in either formal or informal settings.
