Updated Oil Readiness Checklist 2013
The Falkland Islands Government is pleased to announce that an updated version of the FIG Oil Readiness Checklist is now available online.
The Checklist was first created to summarise activities, progress and responsibilities in key areas arising from the Government’s ongoing programme of activities to prepare for the development of the hydrocarbons industry as it grows into a production phase. The Checklist has been regularly revised and updated to reflect progress being made against each action. It remains a ‘living’ document and will continue to be published on a quarterly basis.
The latest update includes details of a new initiative to map the oil industry supply chain and identify gaps and opportunities for local businesses and local people. FIG was pleased to fund this Chamber of Commerce initiative and looks forward to seeing the results.
FIG’s Head of Policy, Jamie Fotheringham commented:
“As part of FIG’s Oil Readiness planning, the checklist remains an important tool in ensuring that the Falkland Islands is ready for new exploration and production activities in the hydrocarbons industry. We are pleased to be able to provide the Checklist online following the launch of the new FIG website”.
