Teslyn is the youngest woman ever elected to the Legislative Assembly or Executive Council and has been interested in politics from a young age, despite training as an artist. She has represented the Falklands at the Youth Parliament in London and has been a member of the Falkland Islands Defence Force since 2009.
In 2010 she began a more politically engaged career as a journalist for the Falklands weekly newspaper, Penguin News. In 2013 she travelled overseas to promote the Falklands referendum in the US, Jamaica and Guyana, before moving into a government public and media relations role.
She is a keen runner who has won two half marathons and marathons in Stanley, and has competed at the Island Games. As the mother of a young son, her commitment to run regularly is currently on hold, but she is still a keen artist and donates work to charity.
Teslyn has lead portfolio responsibility for Natural Resources, as well as Brexit/EU. She has secondary responsibility for Environment and Public Protection and the Rural Development Strategy.
