Stacy Bragger grew up in the Falkland Islands, before leaving to study at Peter Symonds College and the Surrey Institute of Art and Design. On his return, Stacy worked as Deputy News Editor and then News Editor for Falklands Radio for ten years. Whilst working in radio, Stacy developed the documentary series ‘Falklands 30’ to mark the 30th anniversary of the 1982 conflict. The series was broadcast on Falklands Radio and the BBC.
Stacy represented the Falkland Islands at the 2012 Commonwealth Youth Parliament and was a Special Advisor on a tour of South and Central America shortly after the 2013 referendum. He has held a number of voluntary roles including Chairman of the Media Trust and Secretary of the Falkland Islands Overseas Games Association. In 2015 he was the General Team Manager at the Island Games in Jersey.
Prior to his election, Stacy was the Executive Secretary for the Falkland Islands Chamber of Commerce, where he gained great insight into the Falklands’ economy and private sector.
Stacy’s passion in life is music and he hosts a weekly indie/alternative show on Falklands Radio. He is also a keen sports fan and follows Liverpool FC. He has a young son, James.
Stacy has lead portfolio responsibility for Education and Community, and Policy and Public Relations. He has secondary responsibility for Trade and Industry, Employment, Training and Immigration.
