Memorial Service for the late Baroness Thatcher to be held on Wednesday 17th April
A memorial service for the late Baroness Thatcher will be held at Christ Church Cathedral on Wednesday 17th April at 2pm. All are welcome to attend.
Members of the Legislative Assembly have declared a public holiday as a mark of respect, and to allow all those who wish to attend the memorial service to do so. The service is being held in the afternoon in order to allow the community to follow the funeral service held in the UK that morning.
Other than for HE Governor, MLAs and CBFSAI, seating in the Cathedral will be on a first-come first-served basis. Uniform and decorations may be worn at an individual’s discretion.
Arrangements will be made for extra capacity in the Parish Hall should the Cathedral be full. The service will be broadcast live on the Falkland Islands Radio Service, and recorded by Falkland Islands Television. The Jetty Centre carpark will be open for the afternoon as additional parking for the service.
