Falkland Islander commissioned into Mercian Regiment

On the 14 August, Falklands Day, 2nd Lt Teraaka Middleton was commissioned into the 3rd Battalion (Staffs), Mercian Regiment.

After leaving the Falklands, Teraaka passed A Levels at Loughborough College and gained his BSc 2:1 Honours degree in Medical Bio-Chemistry from the University of Birmingham. While at University he joined the Officer Training Corps and the Territorial Army.

Middleton Family at SandhurstProud parents Stella and Phil Middleton along with brother Leif, joined Teraaka™s wife Phoebe and son Theo for the special occasion. The day began with a church service in the Memorial Chapel, before guests made their way to the stands overlooking the Parade Square.


Following 2 weeks leave Teraaka will attend the Platoon Commanders Battle Course at the Infantry Battle School, Brecon Beacons which includes 4 weeks Jungle Training in Belize.

Then it™s off to Warrior Armoured Vehicle Training at Bovington in Devon, before deployment to Afghanistan in March 2011.
