COVID-19: Information and Guidance
Following the two recent positive swab test results for Covid-19, the Falkland Islands Government has committed to producing a regular, weekly update on overall surveillance swabbing test results.
From today, Monday 16 November, improved quarantine measures are now in force for people arriving in the Falkland Islands. Anyone entering the Falkland Islands must still stay in quarantine for a period of 14 days after they arrive. This requirement applies regardless of whether the person is returning home to the Falkland Islands, or is visiting for work or pleasure.
13 November 2020 - Update on Covid-19 surveillance swabbing results - 5 and 9 November flights
All passengers from the 5 November flight have now had their initial quarantine surveillance swabs taken and tested. From this round of results only one person tested positive for Covid-19. The individual in question is in quarantine and will continue to receive regular testing.

Over the past month, the Falkland Islands Government has been meeting regularly with tourism industry representatives to discuss ways to support the sector, given the prevailing challenges it is facing due to COVID-19. This has involved the detailed analysis of a range of measures to support the industry over the next six months, as well as initiatives to help businesses develop greater resilience in the longer term and prepare for 2021 and beyond.
From tomorrow, Wednesday 19 to Thursday 27 August 2020, the KEMH will undertake the next round of the SARS-CoV-2 antibody testing, looking for antibodies to the virus which causes COVID-19 disease.
