Press Releases.

As part of the preparation for the up-coming Child Safety Awareness Campaign, the Falkland Islands Safeguarding Children Board will be carrying out an anonymous survey on child safety and child protection. The survey launches today, 14th April, and questionnaires and response boxes will be available in the Post Office, the Public Library, KEMH Reception, KEMH Nurses’ Station and KEMH Casualty.

Additionally, members of the public can complete the survey online using the following link:

All responses should be received by close of business on Wednesday 24th April 2014.

The subject of child safety is an important one, as demonstrated by being the Assembly Priority for the January-March 2014 quarter. It is, however, a delicate and sensitive subject, and one the Falkland Islands Safeguarding Children Board appreciates can be difficult to discuss. All the information gathered during this survey will be strictly anonymous and will be vital during the preparation of a safety campaign alongside the Lucy Faithfull Foundation, and will help to ensure that the Board prepares a campaign that is tailored to our community.
