Who has to take part?

With the exception of UK Armed Forces personnel currently serving in the Falkland Islands and their families, every household in the Falkland Islands has to take part.

There are three types of people you need to include on your census form:

1. People who usually live in the Islands and who are in your household on census night

2. People who usually live in your household but who are away on census night

    -  if they are still in the Islands, or if they are overseas, include them in the form as long as they’ll be away for less than 12 months

 3. People who are staying in your household on census night, but they usually live elsewhere

    -  for example people who usually live in the Falkland Islands but they have no other address, or

    -  people who usually live outside the Falkland Islands but they are staying in the Islands for three months or more

Anyone else who was staying overnight should be included in the Visitor part of the form.
