Born in the Falkland Islands and, apart from childhood years spent in South Georgia, lived most of his life in the Islands. He is married to Fran and they have a daughter, Ailie, and three sons; Daniel, Kyle and Lucas.
His career includes a telecoms apprenticeship, year working on a West Falklands farm, four years employed by the British Antarctic Territories as an itinerant postman, PWD storeman, FIG Police, FIG taxation and finance, reserve fire fighter and 18 years as part time soldier in FIDF, followed by service as full time CO FIDF.
Interests include travel, mountaineering and winter sports, competitive shooting, all things nautical, wildlife and conservation.
