Biography:

Roger Edwards was born in 1946 in Brinkworth, North Wiltshire, UK.  He was educated at Brinkworth Primary and Malmesbury Grammar School.
In 1963 Roger joined the Royal Marines as a Corporal and transferred to the Royal Navy Fleet Air Arm in September 1965.  Roger then went onto BRNC Dartmouth undertaking flying training at RAF Linton-on-Ouse, moving on to helicopter anti-submarine warfare in 1968.  He served on the Falklands patrol ship HMS Endurance from 1973 to 1975 before joining Lynx Intensive Flying Trails Unit in 1977.
During the Falklands War he was attached to “D” Squadron Special Air Service (SAS) at South Georgia, Pebble Island, Goose Green, Mount Kent and Beagle Ridge. From 1983 until he retired in 1986 he served in HQBFFI (Headquarters British Forces Falkland Islands).
In 1986 Roger and his wife Norma bought Lake Sulivan Farm on West Falkland which is their primary home today.
Roger was first elected to Council in 2001 and was not returned in 2005. He was elected to Legislative Assembly in November 2009.  His wife Norma was a Councillor for many years and his daughter Emma was elected in November 2009.
Roger’s interests include woodworking, fishing and DIY.
