NEW APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED

Director of Health and Social Services
Ms Kathleen Bree is to be the new Director of Health Services in the Falkland Islands.
Kathleen began her career as a Staff Nurse and has had a very successful career in the health services sector, mainly based in Scotland. Ms Bree is currently Service Manager for Regional Public Health in the greater Wellington region of New Zealand. Prior to this Ms Bree was the Director of Allied Health Professionals and Nursing in the Orkney Islands of Scotland.
Ms Bree will arrive in the Islands on 27th July 2007 to take up her post.
Chief Executive, Chris Simpkins, commented:
"Kathleen has been interested in working in the Falkland Islands for over two years and is very used to working in remote communities. She will bring different experience to the post than her predecessors and will, I'm certain, be very successful in building upon the firm foundation of modernisation and leadership of health professionals constructed by Nikki Osborne over the last two years."
General Manager, FIGAS
Captain Stefan Koehler is to be appointed to the post of General Manager of FIGAS.
Captain Koehler currently holds the position of Flight Safety Officer and Quality System Manager for Air-Tec Africa and is based in South Africa. Captain Koehler hails from Germany where he began his career in the Unified Armed Forces of that country. He later moved into civilian aviation, engineering and transport fields and he has extensive aviation management experience.
Captain Koehler will arrive in the Islands in mid-July 2007 and will be accompanied by his wife, Jennifer, and their infant son.
