NEW APPOINTMENTS ANNOUNCED

The search to recruit a new Chief Police Officer to lead the Royal Falkland Islands Police Force has culminated in the appointment of Chief Inspector Paul Elliott. Pre-contract formalities are in the process of being completed but is hoped that Paul, who will be accompanied by his wife, Alison, will be able to commence his duties in about 3 months time. Inspector Len McGill will continue to act as Chief Police Officer pending the arrival of Chief Inspector Elliott.
Paul joined the Lincolnshire Constabulary as a Constable in 1977 and moved through the operational ranks to his present role of leading on community policing matters at County Headquarters in 2004.
Chief Executive, Chris Simpkins, commented:
"We interviewed three very strong candidates for this important position. I'm very pleased that, subject to contract, Paul has accepted an offer to lead the RFIP for the next few years. Surprisingly, our paths never crossed when I too was working in Lincolnshire but he has an excellent record of achievement and I'm confident that he will serve the Islands well. He will be asked upon arrival, and as a matter of priority, to conduct a comprehensive review of the RFIP."
