Born 1952, sixth generation Falkland Islander. Early life spent in camp at Port Howard, went to secondary school in Dorset on FIG Scholarship ('64-'71) and thereafter obtained BA (Hons) Business Studies degree at Middlesex University ('71-'75).
Worked in UK, Africa and the Far East in a variety of engineering and construction businesses principally associated with the Oil and Gas industry, before returning to the Falkland Islands in '89 to take up the post as General Manager FIDC ('89-'96). Resigned to set up own businesses, still active as Quark Fishing Ltd, Pioneer Seafoods and Concordia Ltd.
First elected in '96 by-election and re-elected in '97, '01 and '05. Not successful in the '09 election but re-elected in '11 by-election.
Trustee FI YMCA, Trustee Stanley Golf Club, Chairman FIOGA, active in sports and sport development. Married to Jacqueline, two daughters and two grand-daughters.
